This season we introduced a spare list system designed to give every player in the league a fair opportunity to play additional games .

Why checking in matters
This system only works when players do their part by checking in:
- Through the TeamLinkt app
- Or by clicking the availability link in the email sent roughly 48 hours before game time
When players do not check in, teams can end up short. This has led to situations where teams with fewer than 10 players start cherry picking players coming off the ice to build a roster. That is not fair or equitable, especially when the opposing team has a full, balanced roster.
The goal is not to build the strongest possible lineup for a single game. The goal is fairness.
Built in fairness
The spare system has built in safeguards:
- Players who accept spares more often receive delayed invites
- Players who have not played recently receive invites earlier
This ensures no one gets a preferential advantage and helps prevent stacked teams playing against rosters that were balanced at the start of the season.
Every player has paid the same league fee and deserves the same opportunity to play. Please check in, use the system properly, and help keep games fair for everyone.
