The KCOHL is built on a foundation of camaraderie, competition, and the shared joy of hockey – topped off with a well-earned post-game beer with teammates. That said, I want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of keeping our league safe and enjoyable for all players. While we value the competitive spirit, it’s even more important that we all respect the rules and play in a way that prioritizes safety and sportsmanship. 2024/2025 KCOHL Registration is Now Open!

We’re excited to announce that registration for the 2024/2025 season of the Key City Old Timers Hockey League (KCOHL) is now open! There’s been a lot of activity in the offseason, including a significant update from the city of Cranbrook with a 17.5% increase in ice fees. Consequently, our league fees have also been adjusted to cover these additional costs. In addition to these changes, we’ve been working diligently to transition to a new league management system that will greatly enhance communication between players and the league. This new system features a fantastic app that everyone can download, allowing you to easily keep track of your schedule and stay in touch with teammates throughout the season. This year, registration will be completed exclusively online to ensure all information is collected in one place and remains up-to-date, supporting the smooth operation of our new league management system. If any player is unable to pay online, please reach out directly to KCOHL President Chris Nault to find a suitable solution. To register, simply visit: https://app.teamlinkt.com/register/go/kcohl/64524 We look forward to another exciting season of hockey with the KCOHL!

Closing Out the Season: A Strong Finish & Looking Ahead

Good afternoon everyone, As we near the end of another great season, I want to take a moment to update you all on a few important things. Unfortunately, due to the lack of available ice times in town, we will not be able to hold a year-end tournament this season. I explored other venues, but unfortunately, no alternative facilities were able to accommodate us. That being said, our final week of hockey for this season will be March 24, 2024. While we won’t have a tournament, I’d love to organize a season send-off, similar to the Christmas get-together, as a way to wrap things up and celebrate a great year on the ice. If anyone has other ideas, feel free to share! Looking AheadWith next season on the horizon, we also have some leadership changes coming up. Both the President and Vice President positions will be open as the current terms come to an end. If you’re interested in stepping into one of these roles or have any questions about what’s involved, please reach out. Keeping this league strong depends on the great people who step up to lead, and we’d love to see some fresh faces get involved. Lastly, keep an eye out for more details on the Annual Charity Golf Tournament in May. It’s always a fantastic event, and we look forward to another successful fundraiser! Thank you all for your cooperation, dedication, and commitment to making this another successful season for the Key City Old Timers Hockey League. See you on the ice for these final few weeks! JT

Key City Old Timers Step Up Again, A Huge Win for the Food Bank!

Giving Back On and Off the Ice Once again, the Key City Old Timers Hockey League has proven that we’re about more than just hockey. Our annual Food Drive was a huge success, thanks to the generosity and community spirit of our members! This year, we were able to donate 300 pounds of food, and through the sale of 19 KCOHL hats, we raised an additional $380. On top of that, our members stepped up with an incredible $620 in additional donations, bringing our total contribution to a fantastic $1,000 for the local food bank! Moments like these truly reinforce the saying: “We’re not just here for the hockey!” Thank you to everyone who participated and made this possible. Your contributions go a long way in helping those in need in our community. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and looking forward to another great year ahead! Jason T.
