Championship Recap – A Battle to the End!
After two hard-fought semifinal games that both required overtime, Genex Marketing and Inland Kenworth faced off in an intense KCOHL Championship. The pace was high (for us!), and both teams came ready to compete.
Genex jumped out to an early lead in the first period, while Inland Kenworth struggled to gain momentum. The second period saw heavy penalties, but each team capitalized on their power plays, keeping the game tight.
At the end of regulation, the game was tied, sending us to a 5-minute overtime. With only seconds remaining, Jake B. found the back of the net, securing the KCOHL Trophy and the coveted championship flasks for Inland Kenworth for the 2016-17 season!
A Toast to the Game
In what may have been his final game in the KCOHL, Barry M. summed up the emotions of the night best with his post-game comment: “Pass me a beer, will you?”
