It’s been nearly 30 years since the KCOHL Constitution was written. Back then, it was a single document that tried to cover everything - from the league’s purpose to how we pick teams to how many penalties get you kicked out. That worked for a while, but it’s time for a modern update.
We’ve drafted a new Constitution and Bylaws setup that does three things:
-
Keeps the Constitution short and official – just the stuff we need to file as a registered non-profit under BC law.
-
Moves the day-to-day league rules to a separate Bylaws document – so we can review and update those more easily without rewriting the whole thing.
-
Sets us up for long-term clarity and smooth succession – so future execs and team reps aren’t left guessing how things work.
What We’re Asking:
We’re opening a 14-day review period for all players to provide feedback on the proposed updates.
Even if you don’t care much about this stuff, this is your league too - so we’re giving everyone a chance to comment before anything is finalized.
Here’s What’s Included:
💬 How to Comment:
-
-
Highlight the section you want to comment on

⏳ Timeline:
-
Review Period Ends: Midnight, 14 days from the day this lands in your inbox
-
We’ll then meet with team reps and the executive to vote on the final version based on the feedback we get.
Thanks for being part of this league and helping us keep things running strong for the next 30 years. Even if this isn’t your jam, your input matters :-)
